Raipur (Team GD News). The Communist Party of India (Marxist) strongly condemned the incident of vandalism in Jehovah Nissi Church in Kukurbera and assault on people of Christian community and demanded strict action against the culprits and registration of crime.

CPI (M) said that according to the information given by the Father of this church, today on Sunday, as usual, on August 10, at Jehovah Nissi Church in Kukurbera, Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla Ward No. 22, Amanaka, after the morning prayer at around 2 o’clock, when everyone had left, the church was closed and locked. Then some unknown people came and started shouting Jai Shri Ram loudly, some unknown people broke the main door and inside the church also broke the CCTV display of the church and vandalized the things, abused the people present and started beating them. They made false allegations of conversion and got a false report filed before the police and even in front of the police station our people were beaten up, women were mistreated.
The CPI(M) District Committee said that under the protection of the BJP government, Hindutva self-proclaimed organizations are targeting minorities in the entire state, this is a blatant violation of the rule of law. Recently, a similar incident happened with nuns in Bhilai, which was protested across the country, the BJP Kerala leader himself called these allegations false and the BJP government was also criticized. Today, in the incident in the capital, this attack was again made on the religious and freedom rights of the people of the Christian community on false allegations. It is unfortunate that the police made the people who were beaten up sit in the police station and did not even get them treated. The CPI(M) demanded an impartial investigation on the report of the Father of the concerned church on this entire incident and demanded that a case be registered against the culprits of the criminal act of beating and the police administration should take immediate appropriate steps for the safety and security of the places of worship of the minority community.
