25th Chhattisgarh Senior State-Level Ball Badminton Championship concludes

Raipur (Team GD News): The 25th Chhattisgarh Senior State-Level Ball Badminton Championship 2025–26 concluded at the BSP Ball Badminton Complex, Sector-4, Bhilai, with electrifying semi-final and final matches that showcased remarkable talent and competitive spirit from teams across the state.
In the Men’s category, Durg Municipal Corporation emerged as champions following a series of impressive performances. In the Women’s division, Kabirdham claimed the championship trophy with a commanding display in the final.
The final standings in the Men’s category saw Durg Municipal Corporation in first place, Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) in second, and Mahasamund in third. In the Women’s category, Kabirdham secured first place, followed by BSP in second, and Mahasamund in third position.
In the Men’s semi-finals, BSP defeated Durg District with straight-set victories of 35–23 and 35–15, while Durg Municipal Corporation edged past Mahasamund in a tightly contested match, winning 35–33 and 35–21. The final between BSP and Durg Municipal Corporation proved to be a thrilling three-set encounter, with Durg Municipal Corporation clinching the title 28–35, 35–31, 36–34.
In the Women’s semi-finals, Kabirdham overcame Dhamtari with scores of 35–24 and 35–21, while BSP secured a comfortable 35–28, 35–24 win against Mahasamund. The championship match between Kabirdham and BSP was a closely fought contest, but Kabirdham prevailed with 35–31 and 35–28 to lift the winner’s trophy.
The Valedictory Ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Shri Israr Ahmed Khan, Working President, Chhattisgarh Ball Badminton Association; Shri Raji Unnoni, President, BSP Ball Badminton Club & Deputy General Manager (Blast Furnace, BSP); Shri D.V.S. Reddy, Secretary, BSP Ball Badminton Club; and Shri Shyamal Banerjee, Treasurer, Chhattisgarh Ball Badminton Association. Senior referees Shri Ankit Lunia, Shri Gopal Sahu, Shri Seven Das, Shri Chintamani, Shri Keshav, and Shri Ritu Thakur, along with other officials, were also present.
The dignitaries commended the participating teams for their spirited performances and extended their congratulations to the winners and runners-up. They also conveyed best wishes to all athletes for continued success in future state and national-level tournaments.
