Drug racket busted in Raipur, heroin worth Rs 1 cr seized, 9 smugglers arrested

Raipur (Team GDNews): In Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur, the police has made a big disclosure of an international drug syndicate. The scope of this smuggling network was spread from Pakistan to Punjab and then to Raipur. A joint team of Raipur’s Tikrapara police station and ACCU has arrested 9 drug smugglers in a major action. 412 grams 87 milligrams of heroin has been seized from them, which is said to be worth about Rs 1 crore in the international market.

Video exposed the truth, investigation started from Kamal Vihar

The police got information about this entire syndicate when a few days ago a video of a girl taking drugs in a hotel in Raipur went viral. After this video, Raipur Police took the matter seriously and formed a special team and started monitoring technical surveillance and bank transactions. After this, on August 3, the police raided a flat in Kamal Vihar.

A big connection was found from the flat

During the police raid, Lovejit Singh, Suvit Srivastava and Ashwini Chandravanshi were detained from Kamal Vihar. Heroin, three mobile phones, a Creta car, drug packaging material and documents related to cash transactions were found from these three. When the police interrogated them strictly, the big face of this drug syndicate came to the fore.

Kamal Vihar had become a supply hub

During interrogation, it was found that Kamal Vihar area of Raipur was made a hub of drug supply. From here, drugs were delivered not only to Raipur but also to other cities of Chhattisgarh. The police have also arrested local suppliers and distributors on the identification of the accused.

Everyone had a different job

Police investigation revealed that everyone in this syndicate was given different responsibilities. Someone used to bring the goods from Punjab, someone used to package it. Someone was responsible for managing the transaction, while someone used to find customers. In this way, the entire network was being operated in a professional manner.

Lovejit Singh was the main kingpin

The mastermind of this entire network is said to be Lovejit Singh, who hails from Gurdaspur, Punjab. Lovejit used to smuggle heroin from Pakistan and hide it in the border districts of Punjab. From there, these drugs were supplied to different parts of the country, including Raipur.

Cleverness to deceive the investigating agencies

The police have also found out in the investigation that this syndicate used virtual network and net calling to hide its identity. Foreign numbers and WhatsApp video calls were used for conversation. This kept their identity secret and they could not be caught by the agencies.

High-tech method in transactions too

These people used fake accounts to transfer the money for drugs. The police have also found evidence of digital transactions worth crores of rupees. It is being told that these accounts were being operated by people sitting outside the state. At present, the police is trying to reach the root of the entire network.

The police is taking this matter very seriously and new links are constantly coming to light in the investigation. The arrested people are being questioned further, and the search is also being conducted for the financiers and big smugglers of drugs. The police say that more arrests may be made soon
