Trade union leader B Sanyal passes away

Raipur(Team GDNews): Senior leftist and trade union leader of Chhattisgarh Comrade B Sanyal died on Saturday at the age of 73 during treatment at Ramkrishna Care Hospital. His body will be kept for last darshan at his residence in RDA Colony, Tikrapara Raipur from 11 am0n Sunday. After the condolence meeting here, his last journey will leave from his residence for Medical College Raipur at 1 pm. As per his last wish, his body will be donated for the education and research work of medical students in Mekahara.
Comrade B Sanyal was the National Vice President of LIC’s employees union All India Insurance Employees Association. He was the founder general secretary of CZIEA, an organization of insurance workers of central region.
He was the state committee member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) since the time of united Madhya Pradesh and was the pillar of the formation and expansion of CPI(M) in Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh State Construction Canvas He was a member of the secretariat of Chhattisgarh State Committee of CPI(M) and retired from it in the last conference due to health reasons. He was also the state president and general secretary of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions and a member of the General Council. He was a prominent leader of the leftist movement in Chhattisgarh. He had unwavering faith in the ideology of the working class. In this struggle, he bravely faced physical attacks and managerial repression and administrative repression and jail torture many times. He also had to face suspension and die non in the struggle of insurance workers.
Following Marxist principles throughout his life, he continuously fought against communal forces and protected the interests of workers, farmers and deprived sections. Along with organizing the trade union and left movement in Chhattisgarh, he made a special contribution in strengthening the Insurance Employees Union across the country. He was also a powerful speaker, a good writer and a serious thinker. Due to his skill in strengthening the collective leadership and taking forward the broad working class movement, he was looked upon with special respect in the labour movement across the country.
He was also the editor of Andolan Ki Khabar, the mouthpiece of the Central Zone Insurance Employees Union. Various organizations have expressed grief over his demise and termed it a deep loss for the left movement. Many organizations including Communist Party of India (Marxist), Raipur Division Insurance Employees Union, Joint Forum of Trade Unions, Centre of Indian Trade Unions, Central Zone Insurance Employees Association have paid tribute to him.
